Boy Scout Troop 43 in Princeton hosted a Court of Honor Eagle Ceremony Friday, June 23, at Nassau Presbyterian Church to celebrating the achievements of three new Eagle Scouts: Alistair Lyle Dobson, Niccolo Alfonso Grillo, and Krishna Sivakumar. Eagle is the highest rank in Boy Scouting. Scouts must also work over several years to earn at least 21 merit badges, demonstrate that they live by the Scout oath and law, and serve in leadership and positions of responsibility within their troops.

The Eagle projects led by Dobson, Sivakumar, and Grillo were built with a total of more than 450 volunteer scout hours.

Dobson, a member of the Princeton High School class of 2017, will attend the University of California, Santa Barbara this fall. Dobson worked with Friends of Princeton Open Space to design and construct a naturalistic rest area at the Mountain Lakes Reserve overlooking the upper retention ponds. Constructed mostly of native stone, it is designed to blend in with the environment.

Grillo, a rising senior at the Pennington School and resident of Ewing, designed and built a new creche for St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. Grillo integrated audio-visual equipment into his design so that carols and music can be played from the roof of the structure.

Sivakumar, a graduate of Princeton Day School and rising senior at the Hotchkiss School, designed and built two picnic tables for use at the Princeton Historical Society’s historic Updike Farm so that visitors and staff can enjoy the scenic location.
