Princeton Police blotter: Car and bike burglaries, warrant arrests

Residents in the western section of Princeton told Planet Princeton that burglars entered several cars that were left unlocked Monday night and stole items from the vehicles. Some cars with the keys left in the vehicles were stolen. Editor’s Note – We will update this pos with more information when it becomes available.

A Somerville resident was pulled over for speeding on the evening of July 3 on the 300 block of Elm Road. Ronald Porter, 36, was arrested for possession of marijuana. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and released on summonses with a pending court
date.

A bicycle was reported stolen from the Community Park pool complex bike rack next to the municipal building at 380 Witherspoon Street some time between 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on July 4. The stolen bicycle was secured to the bike rack with a cable lock. The bike is described as a Puky 21-speed boy’s mountain bike. The bike is black with orange accents. The bike was valued at $1,000.

On the morning of July 5, a Trenton man was arrested for receiving stolen property. Police responded to a call about an unresponsive man aboard the 606 NJ Transit bus. The man was identified as Juan Maldanado Perez, 33. He was in possession of property reported stolen earlier that day by the Trenton Police Department.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Nassau Street for failure to properly register a commercial vehicle and an obstructed windshield, a Princeton man was found to be driving with a suspended New Jersey driver’s license and had three active warrants from three separate municipalities totaling $1,429, police said. Peter Ostermiller Jr., 54, was arrested, issued several summons and released on bail until his court date.

A Pennington resident was arrested on the 100 block of Palmer Square East just before 10 p.m. on July 6 after police ran a random plate inquiry that revealed that the woman had an active warrant for $186 out of the Princeton Municipal Court. The 28-year-old was arrested, taken to police headquarters, and released after posting bail.

A Pennsylvania resident was pulled over on the morning of July 6 on River Road for having a loud muffler. The driver, Dhanraj Dalphus, was found to have suspended New Jersey and Pennsylvania driver’s licenses and six outstanding warrants totaling $1,240. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and released after receiving several summonses.

During a motor vehicle stop for speeding on Elm Road in the early morning on July 6, a Lawrence resident was found to have an outstanding warrant out of the Camden City Municipal Court for $100. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released on bail.

An orange Trek 3500 was reported stolen from the back of the home on the 100 block of Birch Avenue on the morning of June 26. The theft took place some time between 10 p.m. on June 25 and 8:30 a.m. on June 26. The bike was valued at $430.

Someone entered a pool house on the 100 block of Constitution Hill West, discharged a fire extinguisher, tampered with a first aid kit,removed the safety straps from a backboard, and left the area in disarray on June 25 or June 26. Estimated damages were $600.

Police pulled over a Trenton woman on the 200 block of South Harrison Street for driving a car with an expired inspection sticker on June 27, and discovered she had an outstanding warrant out of Ewing Township for $150. She was arrested, taken to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.

A Trenton man was pulled over on Witherspoon Street on June 27 for not wearing a seat belt. He was arrested for having two active warrants issued by the Ewing Township Municipal Court totaling $500. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and turned over to the Ewing Police Department with a summons and a pending court date.

On June 28, an Elizabeth man was pulled over on Nassau Street for driving without a seat belt. Rui Loureiro, 33, was arrested for having two active warrants issued by Manalapan Municipal Court in the totaling $2,500. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and turned over to the Manalapan Police Department with a summons and a pending court date.

Planet Princeton does not list the names of people who are arrested for outstanding warrants under $1,000.

  1. Oh, the joys of being a sanctuary town. Having locked bikes stolen and active stolen property exchange scene. Juan felt asleep on the bus because he must be a Dreamer (like in a beneficiary of The Dream Act for the uninformed).
