Princeton Community Housing kicks off 50th anniversary celebration
Princeton Community Housing, the largest provider of affordable housing in Princeton, launched its 50th anniversary celebration this month during a party with residents, staff, and trustees at the organization’s first affordable housing development, Princeton Community Village.
The party was the first in a series of events to celebrate five decades of the nonprofit organization’s work. The event included art displays and storytelling and ended with the singing of “Happy Birthday.” The anniversary celebration will be capped off on Oct. 26 at a gala at the Boathouse at Mercer Lake.
In 1967, a group of community leaders formed Princeton Community Housing to support affordable housing and diversity in Princeton. Fifty years later, the organization owns and manages 466 affordable rental homes throughout Princeton, while also working in other ways to support affordable housing.
