Allegiant Air drops two routes between Trenton-Mercer Airport and Florida

Allegiant Air will suspend service between Trenton-Mercer Airport and two Florida destinations effective Jan. 4.

The ultra-budget airline will stop service between Trenton and Orlando / Sanford, as well as service between Trenton and Tampa / St. Pete, Florida.

“Demand in the area was simply not high enough to continue service on these two routes at this time,” Allegiant media relations representative Krysta Levy told Planet Princeton. “Any passengers that have booked travel on these routes after that date will be reached out to individually to be refunded or re-accommodated.”

Allegiant will still offer service between Trenton-Mercer Airport and Punta Gorda, Florida. The airline also offers flights out of Newark Liberty International Airport and Lehigh Valley International Airport. Allegiant became the second commercial carrier at Trenton-Mercer Airport in November of 2016.

Frontier Airlines competes directly with Allegiant at Trenton-Mercer Airport. Frontier offers flights to both of the destinations that Allegiant is cutting.
