Arts Council of Princeton to celebrate 50th anniversary Sept. 16

Student-artist Victoria Wayland of Princeton is the winner of the Arts Council of Princeton’s 50th Anniversary poster contest.

 

The Arts Council of Princeton will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a birthday party from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

Music, dance performances, games, prizes, “make and take” art projects, an interactive community mural, a birthday cake, and a treasure hunt will be part of the festivities. From 2 to 3 p.m., attendees can decorate their own cupcakes. Jammin’ Crepes and Joe’s Ice Cream will have food trucks at the event and will donate 10 percent of proceeds to the Arts Council.

After the celebration, the Arts Council’s 50th anniversary invitational exhibition will kick off with an opening reception.Work will be on view in the Arts Council of Princeton’s Taplin Gallery and the second-floor of the Princeton Public Library from Sept. 16 through Oct. 7.
