Rabid skunk found in Kendall Park

The South Brunswick Health Department was notified by the New Jersey State Health Department on Tuesday that a skunk found in Kendall Park tested positive for rabies. The skunk was found in the vicinity of Langley Road on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Officials said they are closely monitoring rabies cases within the municipality. Residents should report wild animals showing signs of unusual behavior to police. Avoid contact with wild animals and immediately report any bites from wild or domestic animals to your local health department and consult a physician as soon as possible. Never feed or touch wild animals and avoid contact with stray pets. Report unusual behavior of stray or wild animals. Be sure that all family pets are up to date on their rabies vaccinations and licenses.
