Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber Community Development Fund now accepting 2019 grant applications

The Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber Community Development Fund, in partnership with the Princeton Area Community Foundation and the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation, is now accepting 2019 grant applications.

Grants are given to the most promising programs that address one or more of the fund’s focus areas: education, leadership, economic opportunity and development, and self-sufficiency.

To apply, you must be a 501c-3 nonprofit organization headquartered in the Princeton/Mercer County region. Grant amounts range from $5,000 to $10,000. The deadline to apply is Sept. 16.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber’s 2019 Community Development Fund Grant application,” said John Goedecke, chairman of the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber. “Our Community Development Fund has been providing grants to nonprofit organizations in our region for six years and to date, we have awarded over $200,000 in development grants to over 27 nonprofit organizations.”

The Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber established the Community Development Fund in partnership with the Princeton Area Community Foundation in 2013 with a $500,000 gift from the chamber foundation to benefit nonprofits located throughout the Princeton/Mercer region.

“The Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber is the only Chamber in the region to partner and create a program to support not-for-profit organizations with direct grants,” said Peter Crowley, President and CEO of the Chamber. “More than 12% of our members are not-for-profit organizations and we continue to support them in a direct way. We believe that a vibrant nonprofit community is key to a healthy regional economy.”
