The Griggstown Reformed Church will hold its 138th Annual Harvest Home on Saturday, August 18. This event brings together Griggstown residents and the surrounding communities for a day of fun.
Festival start time is 3:30 p.m.
From the opening, the food stand will be open with hamburgers, hotdogs, sausage and chicken sandwiches, fresh corn on the cob, homemade vegetarian chili, kielbasa, homemade baked beans and coleslaw and other foods available.
The baked goods stand is always open and festival-goers can buy homemade dessert for at the event or even to take home for another day. The highlight of the table is ‘The Works” – homemade angel food cake, vanilla ice cream and peaches.
Througout the day, entertainment will be provided by the Blawenberg Band – a community band founded in 1890 – and two local high school students – Maleah Moon and Leslie Baez.
Attendees can stroll through the grounds of GRC and check out the Quilt display in the church building, the Silent Auction – which goes off at 6:30 p.m., a display of wares from the Believers Youth Group, a Dollar Stand and other local displays which include antique tractors, a model train display and local quarter midget racers and their cars.
The kids can be kept entertained with games and prizes for tickets to participate. The ever popular, for children and adults alike, coconut toss and dunk tank will be on hand.
Come on out and enjoy a wonderful day!
