The Trinity Church 46th annual spring rummage sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 33 Mercer Street.
The Trinity rummage sale is a popular community event that offers a variety of items for sale from antiques and collectibles, books, jewelry, ladies and men’s better clothing, linens, and ladies accessories to luggage, sports equipment, family clothing, housewares, and toys. Lunch will also be sold. Mastercard and Visa will be accepted.
On Saturday, free, but numbered, entry tickets will be distributed at the Mercer Street, Pierce-Bishop Hall entrance, beginning at 7 a.m.
This year new guidelines from the fire marshal to prevent overcrowding will change the look of the sale, as well as insure safety for so many shoppers. For instance, strollers will not be allowed, and a limited number of shoppers will be admitted to each room at one time.
Thanks in part to the public support of the rummage sale, in 2015 Trinity Church Princeton awarded $159,343 in grants and awards towards outreach. All rummage sale proceeds benefit programs focusing on hunger, children, health, adequate housing, incarcerated students, and international aid. Local funding helped the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, Mercer Street Friends, The Crisis Ministry, Housing Initiatives of Princeton, the Trenton Children’s Chorus, Urban Promise of Trenton, Habitat for Humanity, and the Petey Greene Program.
