It must run in the family: Abigail Lorraine and her mother, Gail Pillitteri, will be
showcasing their art at the Witherspoon and Nassau Street Small World Coffee
locations for the month of July.
Expect bold brush strokes and vibrant colors from Abigail Lorraine’s collection of
abstract and conceptual work. A flower morphs into a bird; a painting of a fire burns
within a painting of a fire; a cello dances across a canvas; these are just a few of the
ideas she brings to life. This Renaissance woman also holds a Master’s degree in
Physics and has published three collections of poetry. Her background in science,
philosophy, and creative writing inspires a range of pieces that are sure to stimulate
both the heart and mind. Oh, and they’re just plain cool to look at, too.
Abigail must have inherited the creative gene from her mother, Gail Pillitteri, whose
oil landscapes and abstracts always impress. Gail combines realism and imagination
to create beautiful scenes that draw you into their world. Her abstracts show a deep
understanding of color and composition. She must have learned a thing or two when
she earned her Visual Art degree from our local Mercer County Community College.

Both of these artists will be holding their opening receptions at the Small World
cafés on Saturday, July 9 th . Gail’s Nassau Street opening will be held from 4 to 6pm,
and Abigail’s Witherspoon street opening will follow from 6 to 8pm. The cafés are a
walkable distance from one another, and refreshments will be served.
