An Evening with NPR’s Bob Mondello
March 22 • 7:00 pm
Garden Theatre to Host NPR’s Bob Mondello
The Princeton Garden Theatre will host an evening with NPR’s renowned film critic Bob Mondello on Thursday, March 21st. Bob has personally selected Harold & Maude to be shown at the Garden, as it is a film that is considered one of his favorites. One of the most beloved cult films of all time, Harold & Maude tells the story of an unlikely relationship between a bored, wealthy teen and a lively 80-year-old woman. Director Hal Ashby is in his prime in this quirky dark comedy which features a timeless soundtrack with the music of Cat Stevens.
For more than three decades, Bob Mondello has reviewed movies and covered the arts for NPR, seeing at least 300 films annually, then sharing critiques and commentaries about the most intriguing on NPR’s award-winning newsmagazine All Things Considered. In 2005, he conceived and co-produced NPR’s eight-part series “American Stages,” exploring the history, reach, and accomplishments of the regional theater movement. Mondello has also written about the arts for USA Today, The Washington Post, Preservation Magazine, and other publications, and has appeared as an arts commentator on commercial and public television stations. He spent 25 years reviewing live theater for Washington City Paper, DC’s leading alternative weekly, and to this day, he remains enamored of the stage.
Tickets are on sale in person at the box office or on our website, www.princetongardentheatre.org. Our community cinema aims to uphold the classic theater experience, combined with modern technology and premiere on-screen presentation. We foster entertainment, exploration, and community engagement through our diverse and thoughtful programming.
