Arts Council of Princeton Summer Concert Series

The Arts Council of Princeton, in partnership with the Princeton Shopping Center, presents the Summer Courtyard Concert Series every Thursday from June 21 through August 23 at the Princeton Shopping Center. The series is free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, grab dinner in the shopping center, and enjoy the music.
Thursday, June 21 – Dirk Quinn Band. Dirk Quinn is the guitarist for a high energy funk/jazz band based out of Philadelphia that travels extensively throughout the US and Canada.
Thursday, June 28 – The Blawenburg Band. A special evening showcasing the golden age of concert band music featuring American patriotic. The Blawenburg Band is one of the oldest community bands in the state, founded in 1890.
Thursday, July 5 – Diali Cissokho & Kaira Ba. Diali Cissokho & Kaira Ba take West African dance music into new territory—literally, the North Carolina Piedmont. That’s where Cissokho, a griot born to a family of professional musicians in Senegal, makes his transplanted home.
Thursday, July 12 – DCFusion. DCFusion melds straight ahead jazz with a Latin and R&B feel. The members of the group bring a melding of styles into a unique sound.
Thursday, July 19 – Trinidelphia. Trinidelphia fuses Trinidadian Soca and Calypso with Latin Jazz, Reggae, Salsa, and American top-40.
Thursday, July 26 – BRIZ and the Revival. BRIZ and the Revival are a dynamic R&B/rock band. BRIZ, a resident of Princeton, a gifted singer-songwriter, is the lead vocalist of this ensemble.
Thursday, August 2 – Grace Little Band. This dynamic group is comprised of 8 very talented musicians: two lead vocalists, a full rhythm section, and a sax player.
Thursday, August 9 – Eco Del Sur. The group’s music includes a wide range of styles and rhythms influenced by the Pre-Columbian and Spanish cultural heritages, the Pacific Coast, the Atlantic Coast and the Caribbean.
Thursday, August 16 – Octavia Blues Band. Harmonica, vocals and guitar in a fun interactive performance of primarily original music. Octavia toured with Etta James, played harmonica with Stevie Wonder and opened for numerous other musicians including B.B. King.
Thursday, August 23 – Michael Austin. Michael Austin, who was sentenced to life plus fifteen years for armed robbery and murder: crimes he did not commit, started a jazz band and music programs while in prison and now travels to share his story and talents with others.
The concert series is rain or shine. In the event of rain, concerts will be held in a covered area at the Princeton Shopping Center.
