AshTag is an app that has been created by community members to crowdsource a digital map of all the ash trees in the Princeton area. The information will be used to facilitate checkups on the trees to contain the spread of disease. For Arbor Day on April 21, organizers will celebrate the launch of the app at the Mountain Lakes Preserve in Princeton. You will learn about the Emerald Ash Borer that is killing ash trees and the app. You can also help create a map of all the ash trees at the Mountain Lakes Preserve, facilitating the efforts to keep the Emerald Ash Borer under control. While we can’t do anything about the fact that these beetles were introduced into Northern America, it is our responsibility to protect these trees and the position they have in our ecosystem.
