




The Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey will hold its annual New Year’s Eve Celebration Concert on Dec. 31 at Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton.
Event details:
7:10 p.m. – Pre-concert organ recital by Ian Fraser, a young theater organist, featuring the War Memorial’s historic organ.
8 p.m. – New Year’s Eve concert featuring light classical works. Conductor Ruth Ochs returns to the podium as a finalist in the orchestra’s music director search. Musicologist Joel Phillips will serve as master of ceremonies.
The event will also highlight artwork from the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen’s arts program, with pieces created by local emerging and self-taught artists displayed in the War Memorial Ballroom.
A post-concert reception for all ticket holders will be held in the ballroom, with a champagne toast, light desserts, and jazz performances by orchestra musicians.
Seats are $40 and up, $10 for students.
