The D&R Greenway Land Trust is hosting a public meeting to gather input for a proposed bicycle and pedestrian trail in Trenton. The proposed trail would link up the main D&R Canal State Park path near Trenton’s Battle Monument to the fragmented section of the path in Hamilton Township. The trail would wind through Trenton’s streets and onto the canal path, linking up to the Delaware River Heritage Trail and East Coast Greenway.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Trenton Thunder Stadium, Yankee Club, 1 Thunder Road, Trenton. Free hotdogs and pizza will be served to participants.
“The D&R Greenway is exploring how to close the gap between the D&R Canal Path in downtown Trenton and the Delaware River Heritage Trail in Burlington County,” says D&R Greenway Vice-President Jay Watson. “Various on- and off-street bicycle routes throughout South Trenton and downtown are being explored, and we want your input on where this route should go. The meeting will be an open house format, so feel free to stop by any time between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. to help shape the future of this trail network.”
Spanish translation will be provided at the meeting. For further information, contact Jay Watson at email@example.com or 609-924-4646.
The project is funded by the William Penn Foundation via the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission.
