Gene Tierney stuns as Ellen, the unhinged femme fatale who “loves too much” in John Stahl’s Technicolor film noir. After meeting a handsome author on a train, Ellen falls head over heels in love. She attempts to keep her new beau’s heart all to herself — leaving a body count in her wake. Also starring Cornel Wilde, Jeanne Crain, and Vincent Price.
About the Fashion: Ellen’s (Gene Tierney) chilling cruelty is masked under flawless elegant jumpsuits, billowy blouses, wide-buttoned trousers, tortoiseshell shades, and luxurious fur coats. 20th Century Fox lead designer Kay Nelson takes the official credit of costume designer, but Tierney’s first husband, legendary designer Oleg Cassini, couldn’t stop himself from creating for his muse, most notably designing Tierney’s impeccably tailored ivory monogrammed jumpsuit.
