Gavin Black plays music of Bach, Froberger, Kuhnau, Frescobaldi, Sweelinck, and others on two clavichords: an original 18th century anonymous 4-1/2 octave instrument probably from Germany or Austria, and a small early Baroque-style instrument by Keith Hill and Philip Tyre. The 18th century instrument formed part of the collection of late nineteenth-century instrument builder and collector Morris Steinert and was exhibited at the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893. This is a rare chance to hear an antique clavichord in concert.
