Halloween: A Musical Spooktacular!
October 28 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm$10 – $15
Join Ruth Ochs and the Westminster Community Orchestra on Sunday, October 28 for their annual musical salute to Halloween. This year’s concert, Halloween: A Musical Spooktacular features fun and familiar pieces that focus on heroes, Hades, and beyond, including Offenbach’s Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld, Gounod’s “Funeral March of a Marionette,” Holst’s “Mars” from the Planets, and John Williams’ “Raiders March” from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Assistant conductor Sergey Tkachenko will lead the orchestra in Ravel’s lovely Pavane pour une infante défunte. In addition, the orchestra will be joined by students from the Westminster Conservatory’s Violin and Suzuki groups taught by faculty member Urska Haule Fegus. Children are welcome to attend in costume, and small treats will be provided. Tickets are available by calling the box office at 609-921-2663 or online at www.rider.edu/arts. The concert will be held at the Robert L. Annis Playhouse on the campus of Westminster Choir College.
