Ruth Ochs and The Westminster Community Orchestra will present their annual family holiday program on Wednesday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m. Free-will monetary and non-perishable food donations to benefit area food pantries will be accepted. The free performance will feature holiday favorites such as Sleigh Ride, The Holly and the Ivy, selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, including the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and a harp duet on Greensleeves performed by the orchestra’s harpists Gerry Porcaro and Katherine Highet. The concert also includes Beth Gaynor LaPat’s arrangement of the Chanukah favorite Dreidle, Spin and other Chanukah melodies. The evening will conclude with John Finnegan’s popular Christmas Sing-along and Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. Texts and choral parts will be provided. The hour-long performance will take place in The Robert L. Annis Playhouse on the campus of Westminster Choir College; no tickets are required. For more information call 609-921-7104.
