The artists of HomeFront, an Ewing-based organization that helps struggling families in Mercer County, and the artists of the Lawrence-based Creative Collective will present a joint exhibit at Artspace, on the HomeFront Campus, at 101 Celia Way, Ewing.
The exhibit’s theme is “Gratitude,” which is timely for the season of Thanksgiving, and will run from November 11, 2016 to January 3, 2017. A reception for all the artists, families and friends, will be held on Sunday, December 11 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
The Creative Collective, a gathering of artists of many media and backgrounds, is dedicated to fostering a creative and nurturing community for artists, artisans and art lovers in central New Jersey. Its goal is to provide a friendly and supportive atmosphere for inspiration for both beginners and professionals in visual art as well as supporting the greater arts community through service. Currently with more than two hundred members, the Collective organizes exhibits of members’ work, regular meetings to share and discuss current art work and concerns, a seasonal Plein Air group, an Open Studio time, and is proud to partner with the artists of Homefront in regular joint exhibits.
The artists of HomeFront, while working on their art at ArtSpace, are also working to build self-esteem and confidence, while enhancing their physical, mental and emotional well-being. Artspace’s innovative therapeutic art program encourages clients to tap into their creativity, which often opens doors to new ways of thinking and activates a voice they didn’t know they had.
Through exhibition and sale of the art created, ArtSpace provides entrepreneurial skills and opportunities to its artists. The artwork often has themes that educate the public about the plight of the underprivileged members of our community. But most importantly, ArtSpace refurbishes souls through creativity, and assists clients on the road to self-sufficiency.
A share of all sales of art of the upcoming joint exhibit will go to benefit Artspace, and all the artists warmly invite visitors to come, enjoy original art, and join in the theme of gratitude this season of Thanksgiving.
