Improving Community and Family Engagement Through Resource-Based Partnerships

The Hopewell United Methodist Women will present “Improving Community and Family Engagement Through Resource-Based Partnerships” at the group’s annual dinner and speaker program on June 14, 2018. The dinner is at 6:30 PM and program will start at 7:15 p.m.
Denise Kenner- Bennett, founder of Educational Advocates Reaching Today’s Hardworking Students, is the speaker. Kenner- Bennett is a Pennsylvania Licensed Social Worker who works as a partner relations consultant. Her organization is an education-based group with a mission to improve the academic outcomes of children living in poverty. The organization provides family-based literacy workshops that help strengthen shared learning experiences within the family and the community.
Topics to be discussed:
- Aligning an organization’s mission with the needs identified by the community.
- Techniques for establishing partnerships with organizations that share your values.
- Strategies for empowering your community/families.
- Assessing and evaluating your work.
This program is free and open to all in the community. The dinner is a potluck of salads and desserts. The United Methodist Women support missions that help women, youth and children.
