An Acoustic Evening with
With Special Guest Lowland Hum
Josh Ritter is a singer/songwriter with a strong voice, keen wit, and an evocative way with words who has built a loyal following as one of the leading lights on the contemporary folk scene. Known for his distinctive Americana style and narrative lyrics, he’s been making recordings for almost 20 years, including his Historical Conquests (2007), So Runs the World Away (2010), and his latest, Sermon on the Rocks, which Ritter calls his foray into “messianic oracular honky-tonk.” Listening to his songs, which are rich in metaphor and nimble wordplay, reveals his legacy to such master wordsmiths as Bob Dylan, John Prine, and Paul Simon.
