La Convivencia is a New Jersey-based non-profit organization with a mission to honor and celebrate the differences and shared values of a pluralistic community based on the principals of acceptance, trust and mutual respect. By uniting a diverse citizenry through community service and civic engagement, the group seeks to create a more inclusive and peaceful society.
On March 11th from 1:00 pm – 5:30 pm, the organization will be presenting its first annual social justice and interfaith leadership conference. This half-day conference features speakers, leadership workshops, youth workshops, and Latin, Spanish and Sephardic music by the Zorzal Music Ensemble.

Key Note Speakers featured are Ruha Benjamin of Princeton University and Patricia Fernandez-Kelly of Princeton University and Chair of the Latin American legal defense education fund. Benjamin is an Associate Professor of African American Studies at Princeton University. Her work investigates the social dimensions of science, technology, race, and medicine, with a focus on the tension between innovation, inequity, and social justice. Fernandez-Kelly is a Senior Lecturer in the department of sociology at Princeton University and is a research associate in the Office of Population Research.
