Learn about Michaelangelo’s Unfinished Sculptures
February 2 • 5:00 pm

Michelangelo Buonarroti left over half of his marble sculptures — some 26 of his 44 works, ranging from his very first carving to his last — in various unfinished states. Princeton University Associate Professor of Art and Archaeology Carolina Mangone will explore the problem and appeal of these uncompleted works at Dorothea’s House on Feb. 2. Professor Mangone will focus on a handful of Michelangelo’s sculptures and their relationship to the preparatory arts of drawing and modeling. Participants are encouraged to bring refreshments to share at a post-program reception. Doors open at 4:45 p.m.
