McCarter Live at the Library: Legacy of Light

March 11 • 7:00 pm

Free

In present-day Princeton, an astrophysicist is discovering new planets while dreaming of starting a family. In 18th-century Paris, Émilie du Châtelet — a brilliant physicist whose genius inspired the work of Voltaire and influenced Einstein and his Theory of Relativity — is running out of time before her baby arrives. Across the ages, but under the same star-filled sky, their stories intertwine in this bright and funny play about life, the universe, and the legacy we leave behind.

Panelists:
Director Sarah Rasmussen, Artistic Director at McCarter
Playwright Karen Zacarias
Princeton University Professor of Astrophysical Sciences Jenny Green (Astrophysics Consultant to the play)

Moderator:
Julie Felise Dubiner, Dramaturg & Director of Artistic Initiatives at McCarter
