This 8-week course offers 3rd – 5th graders the tools they need to develop the life-long skill of Mindfulness. Research has shown that Mindfulness can increase attention and emotional control and decrease anxiety in children. The classes will include lessons in mindful breathing, listening, eating and thinking as well as lessons in heartfulness, like gratitude, compassion and generosity. Mindfulness allows us to be aware of the present moment in both our outer and inner world so that we can choose to skillfully respond, rather than react.
