Experience the excitement of music created live in performance! The Momentary Quartet, an ensemble of classically-trained artists on piano, trombone, horn, and trumpet, will present a concert of original improvisations on Saturday, October 29, and a Music Creativity Workshop on Sunday, October 30, from 1-3pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton.
“Though we are improvising, we create pieces in the best tradition of chamber music, with rhythmic and motivic conversations, silence, and imitation,” says pianist Jane Buttars. “Our styles range from classical to avant-garde to blues to world music. The result is a product of intense spontaneous interaction.” Daniel Harris, award-winning regional poet and frequent collaborator with the group, will read several poems as inspiration for the music.
