Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotary Annual ‘Run With Rotary’

The 16th annual Run With Rotary 5K race and 1-Mile Ramble will take place on Sunday, April 28, 2024 in bucolic Skillman Park in Montgomery Township. Hosted by the Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotary Club, the Run With Rotary is one of Central New Jersey’s preeminent charity races. The Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotary Club is a member of the worldwide service organization, whose motto is “Service Above Self.”

The Run With Rotary is the principal fun-raising event for the Montgomery/Rocky Hill Club and its charitable foundation. Funds raised through sponsorships support myriad vital causes and organizations. Included among them are HomeFront, Arm in Arm, Urban Promise Trenton, Montgomery Food Pantry, Montgomery Senior Center, Samaritan Homeless Interim Project (S.H.I.P.), disaster relief, Save A Friend to Homeless Animals, Bentley Community Services, Arts Incubator of Montgomery, clean water projects in South Sudan, Polio Plus, local fire and emergency rescue squads, and scholarships, as well as individuals and families in need.

“I am both thrilled and humbled to be chairing this year’s Run With Rotary,” said Donato Nieman. “With back-up from assistant chairmen, Bill Beachell and Bill Hyncik, the charter members of our club who co-chaired the inaugural Run With Rotary in 2007, I am certain the 2024 Run With Rotary will be a fantastic, fun-filled event!”

Runners and Ramblers can save by taking advantage of early bird registration. Now through March 15, the 5K and 1-Mile Ramble fees are, respectively, $30 and $20. Between March 16 and April 24, those fees are $40 and $25. Day-of-Race registration fees are $45 and $35. The 5k is certified by the USATF, and USATF members who register for the 5K by April 24 will receive a $3 discount on their registration fee. All participants are encouraged to bring a nutritious, shelf-stable donation for the Montgomery Food Pantry. Long-sleeved, cotton, commemorative t-shirts are available for all who register by April 5, 2024. New for 2024, first-place finishers in 5K various categories will receive specially-designed Run With Rotary sweatshirts. Organizations, businesses, friends, and families are encouraged to register as “teams.” The team with the highest number of participants registered by April 24 will have the opportunity to designate $500 for a charity of its choosing and – new in 2024 – also receive a $500 gift certificate for catering services from the Tiger’s Tale. The teams with the second and third greatest number of pre-registrants will also be recognized through donations, respectively, of $350 and $150 to the charities of their choice. Ribbons will be awarded to teams in many other categories as well, including “Most Spirited,” “Best Dressed,” and “Community Spirit.”
