The Princeton Community Democratic Organization will hold its monthly membership meeting on Sunday, June 11, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., at the Suzanne Patterson Center behind Monument Hall in Princeton. Doors will open at 7:00. The program will focus on health care in the current environment, addressing what we need to know, what we need to ask, and what we need to advocate for, specifically concerning the potential impact of the Republican AHCA legislation and the repeal of the ACA.
Leading the discussion will be Heather Howard, Princeton Council Member and former New Jersey Commissioner of Health and Senior Services, and Dena Mottola Jaborska, Associate Director of NJ Citizen Action. Howard worked at the federal level as Senator Jon Corzine’s Chief of Staff and Associate Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council. She currently is at the Woodrow Wilson Center for Health and Wellbeing. Jaborska serves as Director of Organizing and Strategic Program Development for NJ Citizen Action and previously was the Executive Director of Environment NJ. She has been instrumental in creating weekly vigils at Republican Congressional offices to protest the repeal of the ACA.
The event is free and open to the public, and there will be light refreshments.
The Annual PCDO Picnic will take place on Sunday, July 16, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in Harrison Street Park.
