Kurosawa’s masterpiece is a jewel of international cinema, weaving together philosophy, entertainment, and relentless action into an unforgettable tale about courage and hope. The people living in a small farming village in 16th century Japan hire seven samurai to rid themselves of the scourge of marauding bandits. This is the greatest samurai film ever made and one of the most emulated movies of all time, having influenced such films as THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN and STAR WARS.
