The 2022 New Jersey Future Smart Growth Awards Virtual Ceremony

New Jersey Future will honor projects and leaders as part of its 20th annual Smart Growth Awards. The awards ceremony will be screened on November 10 for virtual audiences. New Jersey Future is honoring the following six projects from across the state.
North Trenton / Battle Monument Choice Neighborhood Plan Connects People and Place:Landmark adopted plan that seeks to create reinvestment in Trenton while providing high-quality mixed-income housing options and complete streets.
Taylor Vose Building Brings Life to Downtown South Orange: State-of-the-art mixed-use development that is reshaping the historic downtown core in South Orange and reconnecting it with its past.
Passaic’s Dundee Island Park Combines Recreation, Green Infrastructure, Art, and Indigenous History: Revitalized park that combines recreation, public art, and green infrastructure to improve quality of life in Passaic.
Pacific Avenue Redevelopment Plan Revitalizes Downtown Wildwood: Innovative plan that will connect neighborhoods and restore a vibrant downtown in Wildwood.
202 Park in Cherry Hill Centers Connectivity, Accessibility, and Affordability: New riverfront development in Cherry Hill that provides a variety of housing options, as well access to recreational and commercial activities.
Lion Gate Park and Urban Wetland Floodplain in Bloomfield Offers Opportunities for Resilience and Restoration on the Passaic: A former brownfield site was converted into a park space to provide recreational opportunities and reduce flood risk in Bloomfield.
New Jersey Future is also honoring Christopher Daggett and Yvette Jordan with the Cary Edwards Leadership Award for their contributions to the future of our great state through their careers as public servants and community leaders. The Cary Edwards Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have an outstanding commitment to improving quality of life and promoting smart growth in New Jersey through sustainable land-use policy and practice.
Christopher Daggett will be recognized for his career-long dedication across public, private, and nonprofit sectors to good government, environmental resilience, and equitable growth in New Jersey. Learn moreabout Chris’s influence on smart growth and environmental protection in the Garden State.
Yvette Jordan is recognized for her work as an educator, environmental justice activist, and community leader that has advocated at local, state, and federal levels on lead impacts on community health. Learn more about Yvette’s crucial advocacy in NJ communities.
Two virtual screenings: 12-1 p.m. and 5-6 p.m.
There is no cost to attend but pre-registration is required.
