Translator Gives Insight into Author’s WWII Experience
April 6 • 5:00 pm

“Lost Bread” by Edith Bruck is rooted in the author’s own experience, recounting geographic and emotional dislocation during WWII, departure from Hungary and arrival in Italy, where Bruck found a new home in the Italian language. Seton Hall Professor Gabriella Romani, who translated Bruck’s work with David Yanoff, will give insight into the author’s story.
The event, from 5-7 p.m., is free. Participants are encouraged to bring refreshments to share at a post-program reception. Doors open at 4:45 p.m.
