Trenton Film Festival: Materia

June 10, 2015 @ 8:00 pm - 9:25 pm

$8

Unparalleled in diversity of subject matter, technique and filmmaker intention, this year’s festival features 53 films from 16 countries, ranging from narrative features and documentaries to new media such as music videos and experimental works. See films by accomplished directors, local film students and emerging talents from all regions of the US, Canada, Europe, South Asia, Australia and the Middle East. A great opportunity to explore a wide breadth of film, meet many of the filmmakers and discover the local Trenton filmmaking scene!

Playing Wednesday, June 10 at 8:00 pm:

The Sound of Road (Iran, Barzan Rostami, 3m)
A story of fake loves: boy meets girl, they get married, have a baby, then get divorced. The child, caught between mom and dad, chooses neither, but instead takes a different path…

cyberGenesis (North Carolina, US, Dir. André Silva, 13m)
A creatively crowdsourced, fantastical, animated journey that imagines a future creation myth, crafted by cyber consciousness from bits and pieces of humanity’s online legacy.

Materia (Russia, Dir. Natalia Naftalieva, 69m)
Combining cinema, theater, pantomime, and chronicle, with costumes designed by the director, Materia shows the transformation of women’s nature from ancient through modern times.

Total running time: 85 minutes
