Unlocking the Power of Video on Social Media to Advance Your Cause

November 13 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am

$45

Ever dream of making a viral video for a cause that matters to you?  If so, you might want to check out an upcoming workshop that provides hands-on lessons in unlocking the power of video on social media to promote your cause.

PTO moms, animal rescue lovers, environmental activists, social justice warriors, cancer awareness advocates and all other non-profit professionals from Bucks County and the Greater Princeton community are invited to attend the November 13, 2019 event hosted by Princeton Community Television and Women in Development (WID) of Mercer County.

“Today, people want information quickly and their preferred way is with video, especially on social media,” said Patty Murray, co-president of WID Mercer.  “More than 80 percent of web traffic is video and 90 percent of people say that video influences their decisions about many things, including their support of non-profits.”

Held at the Princeton Community TV, 1 Monument Drive in Princeton, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the hands-on workshop will answer the following:

  • How to use video and social media effectively to promote your cause
  • Why this is important for donors and for expanding your reach
  • How to develop a video and social media strategy
  • The impact of delivering your message in short sound bites with interesting visuals
  • How to pitch and craft your story for TV
  • How you can utilize the affordable resources of Princeton Community TV

The workshop begins at 9 a.m. with a curated interactive discussion featuring George McCollough, Executive Director – Princeton Community TV, Sharyn Murray, Station Manager – Princeton Community TV, and Sabrina Teekah, Host & Producer, Life 2.0. The talk will be moderated by Patty Murray, Owner, Murray Public Relations. (Photo below.)

At 10 a.m., attendees will be divided into three breakout sessions:

  • Tour the PCTV Studio & Equipment Rental Room
  • Tape your organization’s 30-second elevator pitch
  • Ask the Experts: oneon-one time with panelists
  • The cost of the workshop is $45, and will include breakfast and free parking. WID Mercer members pay $35.
