Westminster Conservatory Showcase

The Westminster Conservatory presents its annual showcase featuring students and ensembles from the Conservatory and Rider University on Sunday, February 4 at 3:00 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall on the Princeton University campus. The concert features the Westminster Community Orchestra conducted by Dr. Ruth Ochs; the Rider University Chorale directed by Tom Shelton; and Matthew Gao, clarinet, Daniel Guo, alto saxophone, and Madeleine Nieman, soprano, winners of the Westminster Conservatory Concerto Competition. Each soloist will perform with the Community Orchestra. The concert will include music by Haydn, Mozart, Weber, and Dubois, a performance of “Jasmine Flower” (Jenny Zhu, erhu), the world premiere of Evan Chang’s Through the Mist, and Florence Price’s Ethiopia’s Shadow in America. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students/seniors and can be purchased from the Princeton University Box Office, 609-258-9220 or www.princeton.edu/utickets, or at the door.
