DESCRIPTION:We’re celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Museum’s Discovery Den with a complete redesign of the space! Join us for special crafts and activities and pick up a free giveaway (while supplies last.) A food truck will be on site from 11 am – 2 pm for those wishing to purchase food. Outside from 10 – 12 noon\, children can enjoy an obstacle course and large building blocks. Inside\, visit the Discovery Den and explore the new interactive mural\, fossil exploration\, puzzles\, books and the ActiveFloor games. Pick up your free giveaway here while supplies last. There will also be arts & crafts with a NJ natural history theme! Indoor activities offered 9:30 am – 4:00 pm.

SUMMARY:Hope’s Herrontown Woods Community Collage Project Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Led by FOHW’s Artist-in-Residence and Board Member\, Hope VanCleaf\, participants will embellish a 6×6 canvas tile in their own unique style. Please feel free to bring any media you want to use on your tile or just find some inspiration from the woods (flowers\, twigs….) Each  tile will become part of the collective collage to be permanently displayed in the Veblen House once fully restored\, a living testament to creativity\, community\, and preservation.

SUMMARY:Read & Pick: Chickens
DESCRIPTION:Read & Pick is an innovative program that combines hands-on farm activity with your young child followed by an education program with stories highlighting the fruit or farm area. Parents and young children (ages preschool to 8 years) are welcome to celebrate everything wonderful about chickens at 9:30 am and 11 am. We will be reading two books about chickens and learning the many ways chickens are useful to humans. We will visit our “lady hens\,” make a clucking chicken\, and even learn a dance!  \nThe cost is $12.00 per child and includes the craft activity.  Two sessions: 9:30 am and 11 am\, lasting about one hour. Online pre-purchase of tickets is required.
