The museum’s Deputy Director & Curator Elizabeth Allan and Curator & Registrar Jesse Gordon Simons lead a behind-the-scenes tour of the landmark exhibition Five Independent Souls: The Signers from New Jersey. Featuring over 100 extraordinary historic artifacts—including manuscripts\, paintings\, furniture\, and personal objects on loan from collections across the country—Five Independent Souls examines the lives\, ideals\, and contradictions of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence for New Jersey.  \nThe curators will share stories about the exhibition’s development and insight into content beyond the gallery walls. The tour is limited to 20 people. Pre-registration is required.

DESCRIPTION:Read & Pick is an engaging educational program at Terhune Orchards that combines hands-on farm experiences with storytelling and learning for young children. Designed for parents and children ages preschool through 8\, the program introduces participants to seasonal crops while helping them discover how fruits and vegetables are grown on the farm. \nThis Read & Pick session celebrates everything wonderful about corn. Children will begin the program with story time\, featuring books about corn\, vegetables\, and gardening. Following the stories\, farm staff will lead an interactive educational discussion about how corn grows\, what plants need to thrive\, and how farmers know when corn is ready to harvest. \nAfter the learning portion\, participants will head to the field to see corn stalks up close and pick their own ears of corn to take home. It’s a fun opportunity for children to experience firsthand how this summer vegetable grows. \nThe cost is $12.00 per child and includes the picked corn. This educational program with live animals will mesmerize toddlers through grownups. \nNJ Bubble Parties a fun interactive show full of bubbles of all kinds\, giant bubbles\, bubble snow\, bubble foam and more! Be amazed at the world of bubbles. Enjoy two shows each day during the festival. \nCraft Vendor Fair: new this year\, local artisans display and sell their wares. See the wide array of crafts in Terhune’s farm fields. \nPam Mount’s Everything Summer Food Tent\, which offers tasty summer fare including hamburgers\, hot dogs\, homemade gazpacho\, salads and Terhune’s famous apple cider donuts. What a summer treat! \nWine Tasting: Adults can enjoy the taste of summer in a glass with Terhune Orchards’ award-winning wines. Sample a flight of white\, red and fruit wines.
