SUMMARY:Gia Ware and The Warehouse Collective: Metamorphosis
DESCRIPTION:The Warehouse Collective Band is a multi-dimensional ensemble led by vocalist and actress Gia Ware\, whose career has spanned Off-Broadway\, regional\, and international stages.  The Collective is a family band and a creative space where tradition and experimentation meet. Rooted in gospel and shaped by the language of jazz\, the ensemble expands into cinematic soundscapes\, protest music\, improvisation\, and rich textural exploration\, blending theatrical storytelling with contemporary soul and genre-defying musical expression.

SUMMARY:Behind the Lines: Female Followers of the Continental Forces
DESCRIPTION:Join us on June 10th at 7:30 PM via Zoom as we mark the semiquincentennial with a fresh perspective on the American Revolutionary War\, one that centers the often-overlooked women who supported the Continental Army camp.  Who were these women\, and why did they follow the army? \nHistorian Samantha Allison’s presentation illuminates the vital role of female camp followers: the women who marched alongside military units\, performing the essential labor that sustained the army’s daily operations.  The presentation also explores how military authorities navigated the presence of female followers. Officers sought to balance the practical necessity of support services with the demands of discipline and logistics\, revealing a complex relationship between these women and the army. \nDrawing on military records and pension applications\, Allison situated female camp followers within the broader structure of the Continental Army\, showing how their contributions were woven into the very fabric of military administration during the Revolutionary War. \nFree Registration:  https://tinyurl.com/ythd6bpm \n  \nPresenter Bio:\nSamantha Allison is a historian and historical consultant specializing in early American history\, with a focus on military life\, material culture\, and the experiences of civilians and followers of the Continental forces. She is known for her engaging storytelling across a range of media.  Currently\, Allison serves as Civilian Programs Coordinator at Washington Crossing Historic Park. \nHer screen credits include serving as historical advisor for the independent film The Loyalist (2019)\, on-camera historian for two episodes of the PBS series Treasures of New Jersey\, and contributor to the new Valley Forge Visitor Center film produced for the National Park Service. Most recently\, she contributed research and appeared on screen in Ken Burns’ The American Revolution (2025)\, focusing on the daily labor of camp followers. \nThrough her scholarship and her media work\, Allison is dedicated to illuminating the lived experiences of ordinary people-especially women-whose essential labor shaped the course of American history. \nAbout DRGP \nThe Delaware River Greenway Partnership (DRGP) periodically sponsors lectures about different aspects of the Delaware River’s cultural\, recreational\, and natural heritage. An environmental nonprofit\, DRGP supports the Delaware River Scenic Byway\, the Lower Delaware Wild & Scenic River\, the Delaware River Water Trail\, and the Delaware River Heritage Trail. \n  \nTo view previous Heritage Lectures\, visit https://www.youtube.com/@delawarerivergp. \n  \nIf you enjoy our Heritage Lectures\, please donate https://delawarerivergreenwaypartnership.org/index.php/donate. \n\nThank you to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation of Natural Resources for financial support of the 2026 Heritage Lectures.

SUMMARY:Morven's Curator Corner: The Joseph Hewes Miniature
DESCRIPTION:RSVP for a free virtual lunchtime talk with the museum’s curatorial team. \nCuratorial Assistant Emily Marturano will discuss the Joseph Hewes miniature\, currently on view in Five Independent Souls: The Signers from New Jersey. \nThis watercolor miniature by famed artist Charles Willson Peale is adorned in garnets and is the only known likeness of Hewes\, a Signer of the Declaration and a founder of the American Navy. Commissioned as a gift\, it helps shed light on personal connections\, sentiments towards independence\, and illness in the months leading up to July 1776. \nPictured: Miniature of Joseph Hewes (1730–1779)\, 1776. SUMMARY:Gallery Opening: Paul Mordetsky is Moving to Miami
DESCRIPTION:Paul Mordetsky is Moving to Miami\nArtworks by Paul Mordetsky\nOn view: June 5 – 13\nOpening: Fri\, June 5 | 5-7pm\n\nThis special pop-up exhibition invites audiences to explore and collect original works by renowned Hightstown artist Paul Mordetsky before his move from New Jersey to Florida. Over the course of his career\, Mordetsky has worked in both portraiture and landscape\, with landscape becoming his primary focus in recent years. His draw toward landscape stems from both metaphorical and formal interests – he is pulled to expansive forms in luminous light. His works transport viewers into spaces where the “where” becomes secondary to mood\, atmosphere\, and emptiness. \nThis limited-time sale will feature framed and unframed paintings at accessible price points\, with a portion of proceeds benefiting ACP’s community programs.

SUMMARY:Gallery Opening: Commit to Memory: The Precipice of Extinction
DESCRIPTION:Commit to Memory: The Precipice of Extinction\nBy Cheryl Gross\nOn view: June 5-July 3\nOpening: Fri\, June 5 | 5-7pm\n\nCommit to Memory: The Precipice of Extinction is a multi-platform\, social commentary addressing the shifting and eventual disappearance of our culture using animals as metaphors with overall goal being socially relevant as well as visually compelling. \nUsing animals on the endangered species list I have created a multi-media graphic audiovisual representation of society teetering on the verge of collapse. Artistic depictions of animal species as victims illustrate the decline of the American democratic system. Use of the word “extinction” throughout the narrative is the blueprint of this project.
