SUMMARY:Gallery Opening: Paul Mordetsky is Moving to Miami
DESCRIPTION:Paul Mordetsky is Moving to Miami\nArtworks by Paul Mordetsky\nOn view: June 5 – 13\nOpening: Fri\, June 5 | 5-7pm\n\nThis special pop-up exhibition invites audiences to explore and collect original works by renowned Hightstown artist Paul Mordetsky before his move from New Jersey to Florida. Over the course of his career\, Mordetsky has worked in both portraiture and landscape\, with landscape becoming his primary focus in recent years. His draw toward landscape stems from both metaphorical and formal interests – he is pulled to expansive forms in luminous light. His works transport viewers into spaces where the “where” becomes secondary to mood\, atmosphere\, and emptiness. \nThis limited-time sale will feature framed and unframed paintings at accessible price points\, with a portion of proceeds benefiting ACP’s community programs.

SUMMARY:Gallery Opening: Commit to Memory: The Precipice of Extinction
DESCRIPTION:Commit to Memory: The Precipice of Extinction\nBy Cheryl Gross\nOn view: June 5-July 3\nOpening: Fri\, June 5 | 5-7pm\n\nCommit to Memory: The Precipice of Extinction is a multi-platform\, social commentary addressing the shifting and eventual disappearance of our culture using animals as metaphors with overall goal being socially relevant as well as visually compelling. \nUsing animals on the endangered species list I have created a multi-media graphic audiovisual representation of society teetering on the verge of collapse. Artistic depictions of animal species as victims illustrate the decline of the American democratic system. Use of the word “extinction” throughout the narrative is the blueprint of this project.

SUMMARY:Gallery Opening: Sounds of Color
DESCRIPTION:Color is a perceived reality. It has rhythm and wavelength. It can be harmonious or discordant. It changes desire and emotion like a musical composition. aida works mindfully with saturated color boldness to reveal her journey with modern color application\, while considering the question “Do no two people see or feel color the same way?”.

SUMMARY:Gallery Opening: Tales from the Disenchanted Forest

SUMMARY:Poetry Reading: Keith O’Shaughnessy
DESCRIPTION:Poet and Princeton resident Keith O’Shaughnessy will present a reading from his latest work\, Petrushka. An audience Q&A and signing will follow. \nSet in a quasi-Russian dreamscape\, the blackly comic\, darkly beautiful poems and fables contained in this vast volume chronicle\, in an elaborate symphonic arrangement of recurring themes and motifs\, the miscellaneous travails of several interacting characters—ballerina\, chess master\, opera tenor\, cabaret chanteuse (if not\, too\, the odd street urchin\, idiot\, or organ grinder)—all under the vigilant glare of the gleefully belligerent\, aggressively indecorous Petrushka puppet thwacking away savagely at his various adversaries with his signature slapstick. By turns elegant\, satirical\, and absurd\, the collection\, like its namesake\, revels throughout in the perverse and grotesque\, yet always with mischievous wit and rhetorical invention.

SUMMARY:Pop-Up Choir Princeton
DESCRIPTION:The choir you didn’t know you needed. \nPop-Up Choir Princeton is an all-ages community singing experience where families\, neighbors\, and music-lovers come together to sing pop songs in harmony — no auditions\, no pressure\, just joy. \nKids and parents sing side-by-side\nAdults who “used to sing” feel safe to try again\nFirst-time singers get to experience the magic of choir\nSing shortened versions of well-loved pop songs arranged with easy-to-follow harmonies. \nRather than being divided by age or gender\, singers choose the range that feels best for their voice: Low\, Middle\, or High. \nFamilies sit together and work as a team — either choosing to all sing the same part or challenge each other to sing in harmony. \nThere will also be moments where singers can volunteer to sing a short line of the melody on their own. If you feel inspired\, just raise your hand when prompted and you can try the melody while the choir supports you.

SUMMARY:Pop-Up Choir Princeton
DESCRIPTION:The choir you didn’t know you needed.\n\nPop-Up Choir Princeton is an all-ages community singing experience where families\, neighbors\, and music-lovers come together to sing pop songs in harmony — no auditions\, no pressure\, just joy. \n\nKids and parents sing side-by-side\nAdults who “used to sing” feel safe to try again\nFirst-time singers get to experience the magic of choir\n\nSing shortened versions of well-loved pop songs arranged with easy-to-follow harmonies. \n\nA screen-free singing experience:\n\nPop-Up Choir Princeton is intentionally phone-free and screen-free. Instead of staring at iPads or projectors\, everyone receives a simple lyric sheet and learns the music together by ear and by voice — the way humans have always sung. This keeps the focus on listening\, connection\, and the shared energy of singing in the same room.
