Jewish Family and Children’s Service accepting nominations for Rose and Louis H. Linowitz Mensch Award for eighth graders and high school seniors
Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County is accepting applications for the Rose & Louis H. Linowitz Mensch Award until March 6.
The award is merit-based. Jewish eighth-graders and high school seniors living in the greater Mercer County area are eligible for the award.
Candidates should exemplify what it means to be a mensch – a person of integrity and honor, a doer of good deeds, and an all-around good person. Students must be nominated by a member of the community such as a rabbi, educator, youth group advisor, school guidance counselor, or teacher. Eighth-grade Mensch-In-Training and high school senior Mensch Award winners will receive prizes up to $500 and $3,000 respectively. This is not a need-based scholarship.
Selected winners are required to attend a recognition event to receive their award on April 17.
