VP Kamala Harris set to visit Bucks County Wednesday as Doug Emhoff stumps for her in Lambertville
Vice President Kamala Harris will speak at the Washington Crossing Historic Park in Upper Makefield Township, Pa. on Wednesday afternoon as her husband, Doug Emhoff, campaigns for her across the Delaware River in Lambertville.
The vice president’s visit to Bucks County comes after Trump visited Oaks, Pa. Monday and JD Vance visited Lafayette Hill, Pa. Tuesday.
Bucks County is seen as a key county to win in the election. The county swung to Biden in the 2020 presidential election, but the county also has a strong base of Trump supporters. This summer, Republican voter registrations surpassed Democratic registrations in the county where voters are known to split their tickets.
This is Harris’ 11th visit to Pennsylvania for the campaign.
The Harris campaign did not release details about the event, which appears to be an invite-only gathering. On Tuesday, park workers were busy installing white tents and setting up chairs for the event.
Police warn drivers to expect delays in the area on Wednesday afternoon and evening. The following roads could be closed intermittently:
- Gen. Washington Memorial Boulevard, Upper Makefield.
- I-295 eastbound and westbound, Lower Makefield
- River Road, Lower Makefield
- Taylorsville Road, Lower Makefield and Upper Makefield
While Harris is in Bucks County, Emhoff will attend a fundraiser hosted by Nancy Northup and Jim Johnson at their home in Lambertville. Northup is president of the Center for Reproductive Rights. Johnson is a former undersecretary of the Treasury and the second-place finisher in the 2017 Democratic gubernatorial primary.
The Lambertville fundraiser will be Emhoff’s third appearance in New Jersey this month.
