Two lanes of Interstate 95 will be closed in both directions for two nights this week as part of the Princeton Pike Bridge replacement project in Lawrence.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, until 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, and for the same period the following night, two lanes on I-295 in both directions are scheduled to be closed. At least one lane will be maintained overnight. The closures are necessary to install shielding under the Princeton Pike Bridge over I-295.

The I-295 southbound Exit 68A ramp to Princeton Pike northbound and the I-295 northbound Exit 68B to Princeton Pike southbound also are scheduled to be closed beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, until 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, and again the following night at the same time. The closures are necessary to pave temporary ramps.

The $19.7 million federally funded project will replace the existing bridge carrying Princeton Pike over I-295, which is in poor condition. The new bridge will be constructed in stages with work on one side of the bridge at a time. The new bridge will have a reinforced concrete deck and maintain the same configuration with a 12-foot through lane, 12-foot auxiliary lane, 12-foot outside shoulder, 2-foot inside shoulder, and 6-foot-wide sidewalks in each direction, separated by a 6-foot raised median. In addition, the minimum vertical under clearance over I-295 will be raised from 14-feet, 1-inch to 16-feet, 6-inches. The project is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2027.

Motorists wishing to take the I-295 northbound Exit 68B to Princeton Pike southbound will be directed to continue on I-295 northbound
Take Exit 69B to Route 206 southbound
Take the ramp to I-295 southbound
Take Exit 68B/Franklin Corner Road/CR 546 to Princeton Pike
Take Franklin Corner Road/CR 546 southbound
Turn left onto Princeton Pike northbound
