Visitors to MetLife Stadium can now enjoy murals by six New York and New Jersey artists, including Trenton resident Leon Rainbow.

Rainbow, a web designer at the local firm Inforest Communications, is known for creating murals that combine brightly colored patterns, realistic elements, icons and typography.

The MetLife mural project, titled Scenes From Our Streets, was commissioned by Ticketmaster. Rainbow was the only New Jersey artist selected to create a mural at the stadium, with the other five artists representing each of the five New York boroughs.

“The murals were commissioned by Ticketmaster to bring more life and color to the suite level surroundings, and more importantly to show the makeup and culture of New York and Jersey sports fans,” said Gab Ginsberg, head of editorial for Ticketmaster. “Whether you’re at MetLife Stadium for a concert, New York Giants or New York Jets game, or another massive event, the unique spark of live entertainment is always felt. Scenes From Our Streets aims to further reflect that feeling and celebrate the fans that make NYC and Jersey so great.”

The project curator was already familiar with Rainbow’s work and invited him to participate in the project.

Rainbow said he was thrilled when Ticketmaster reached out to commission a mural. His colorful artwork for the stadium, Jersey Fresh, features Lady Liberty, a football soaring through a crowd of roaring fans, a microphone representing the region’s rich music and arts scene, and a New Jersey Turnpike sign.

“Creating a mural that represents my home state at such an iconic venue is a dream come true,” Rainbow said. “I’m excited for everyone to see Jersey Fresh in person.”

The murals are located in the entry areas of suite levels 3, 5 and 5 on both the east and west sides of the stadium.
