New school board members will be sworn in at Princeton Board of Education reorgnization meeting
The board of education for the Princeton Public Schools will swear in three members at the annual reorganization meeting at 5:30 p.m. this evening, Jan. 7 at the Valley Road Administration Building.
Incumbent Mara Franceschi and newcomers Ari Meisel and Christopher Santarpio will each be sworn in for three-year terms on the 10-member board. The board will also welcome new Cranbury Board of Education Representative Katherine Lara. Nine members of the board are from Princeton and one is from Cranbury.
Betsy Baglio and Brian McDonald ended their terms in December and did not seek reelection. Cranbury representative Robert Christopher also did not seek reelection to the Cranbury Board of Education.
The board will select a president and vice president for the year and appoint members to its equity, long-term planning, operations, personnel, policy, and student achievement committees.
On Wednesday, Jan. 8, the school board will hold a special meeting to appoint a new superintendent of schools. The national search for a superintendent to lead the 3,800-student district began in September.
