School social worker Ruth Kirk Moore of Princeton dies at 98
Ruth Kirk Moore of Princeton passed away on Nov. 17, reunited in spirit with her beloved husband, Donald Paul Moore, and her son, Kirk. She was 98. She leaves behind a legacy of grace, resilience, and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Guided by a deep commitment to learning, service, and justice, Ruth earned her bachelor’s degree from West Virginia State University, where she became a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She later received her master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University and dedicated her professional life to helping others, serving within the Trenton Public School District, where her compassion and steadfast support touched countless students and families.
A strong advocate for civil rights, Ruth attended the historic March on Washington in 1963 and remained a devoted supporter of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund in Princeton. Her lifelong commitment to equality, dignity, and justice was evident in the way she lived her life and the causes she championed.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine, and her son-in-law, Curtis Morrison, along with her grandchildren, Blake Morrison and Simone Moore.
She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and the beautiful heart that guided her throughout her long life.
A longtime resident of Princeton, Ruth enriched her community through her presence, friendship, and quiet generosity. Her memory will be held with love and gratitude by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
A private burial will take place, and a memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at a later date.
