Princeton home invasion suspects flee after crashing into police car, officer injured
Police say suspects escaped on foot after head-on collision on Great Road; investigation ongoing
Police in Princeton are searching for several suspects who fled after a home invasion Friday night and a subsequent crash with a responding patrol vehicle that left an officer injured.
Princeton police said officers were dispatched around 7:54 p.m. to a home on Coniston Court after a 911 caller reported hearing what she believed were intruders inside her home.
When officers arrived, they encountered multiple suspects exiting the home. The suspects fled, got into a vehicle, and drove away, police said.
A short time later, the suspects’ vehicle collided head-on with a Princeton police patrol car on Great Road as another officer was responding to the call. The suspects then abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot.
The officer driving the patrol vehicle was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Authorities conducted an extensive search of the area with assistance from a K-9 unit from the Hamilton Township Police Department and a drone operated by the West Windsor Police Department, but the suspects were not located.
No one inside the home was injured. The incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Detective Travis Allie of the Princeton Police Department at 609-921-2100. Police are also asking residents in the area to review surveillance footage and report any suspicious activity.
