Democratic candidates for Princeton Council to participate in forum May 6

The four Democratic candidates seeking seats on the Princeton Council will meet next month in a public forum ahead of the local primary election.

The forum is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, at 5:30 p.m. at Monument Hall in Princeton. The Center for Modern Aging is hosting the hybrid event, which will take place in the former Borough Council chamber across the courtyard from the Suzanne Patterson Center.

The League of Women Voters of the Greater Princeton Area will moderate the discussion.

Residents who wish to attend virtually may register on Zoom through the Center for Modern Aging Princeton website.

Voters may submit questions for the candidates through May 4 by emailing lwvprinceton@gmail.com with the subject line “Princeton Council Forum Question.” Organizers said questions also will be taken from audience members during the event.

A recording of the forum will be posted on the League’s website and on the Center for Modern Aging Princeton YouTube channel after the event.

Incumbent David Cohen is seeking his fourth term on the council. Newcomers include Jon Durbin, an editor and vice president of publishing company W. W. Norton who has been active in the Princeton Community Democratic Organization for many years, Princeton Nursery School CEO Leanna Jahnke, and architect Marina Rubina.
