Splash Into Reading Summer Sessions!

Join Preschool Readers this summer while our Preschool Reading Specialists use a variety of water based hands-on games and activities to make reading fun for your 3-5-year-old! Splash into Reading was created with your active preschooler in mind! Students who do not read over the summer will lose reading achievement. “Seashells by the Seashore” – Visitors enjoy a virtual seaside stroll amidst shell portraits by Johnson Park School fourth-grade students, through Linda Gates and Andi Ackerman, in D&R Greenway’s Olivia Rainbow Gallery through September 6th. Pupils in the classes of Ms. Reeg, Ms. Miller and Mr. Shore recreated the spirit of beachcombing along the Jersey Shore, while learning the science of shells. Morven's latest exhibition "Newark and the Culture of Art: 1900-1960" explores the unique combination of art and industry that made Newark, New Jersey a magnet for modern artists in the early twentieth century. One of our exhibition's featured artists, Stuart Davis, was widely known for his collages and use of brilliant color, abstraction, lettering, movement and musicality. Inspired by Mr. Davis' work and the current show, award-winning artist Deborah Hockstein has created a special collage workshop just for Morven.
