Seuls en Scène 2025 presents Nous sommes un poème by Stanislas Roquette & Gilles Geenen
September 21 • 5:00 pm
Free
Nous sommes un poème is a poetic, musical and participatory recital, a light-hearted format inspired by the thoughts of poet Jean-Pierre Siméon in his 2015 essay “La poésie sauvera le monde” (“Poetry will save the world”).
Stanislas Roquette seizes on it to question our relationship with language while sharing classic and contemporary poems, most of them French, as Jean Vilar did, for example. For fellow travelers, there are a few hits of course: Victor Hugo, Louis Aragon or Arthur Rimbaud, but also nuggets found in the work of Andrée Chédid or Henri Pichette, Liliane Wouters, Philippe Jaccottet or Christophe Tarkos. Not to mention a few forays into new French chanson, with Les Têtes Raides and Loïc Lantoine.
On stage, Roquette is accompanied on guitar and violin by musician Gilles Geenen and will be joined by a group of amateur actors to share a collective moment of poetry (prepared in advance during a workshop).
