Stony Brook Garden Club Flower Show Open to Public
April 8 • 10:00 am
FreeThe Stony Brook Garden Club of Princeton will host “Avant Garden,” the Garden Club of America’s 2026 Zone IV Flower Show, at Grounds for Sculpture on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The flower show is open to the public and free of charge.
SBGC warmly invites the public to experience a day filled with beauty, creativity, and education. “Whether you love arranging flowers, growing them, or capturing them through a lens, there’ll be something here for everyone to enjoy and take away,” says SBGC President Tracy Johnson.
Inspired by our venue, photographers and floral designers from all 11 New Jersey GCA Clubs are challenging themselves to create designs inspired by artists from Caldor, Degas, and Georgia O’Keefe to Pink Floyd and Christan Dior. The large Horticulture Exhibit shows what is in season in gardens across NJ and a closer look at home propagation of New Jersey Native plants. Finally, the spectacular Conservation Exhibit, Avant Stream Science, is a collaboration with The Watershed Institute, and Britney O’Donnelll Landscape design. This display is designed to entertain, educate, and introduce you to the wonders of advanced water science and the power of Native plants to restore and maintain a healthy water supply.
The purpose of a flower show is to set standards of artistic and horticultural excellence; to broaden knowledge of horticulture, design, conservation, photography, and other related areas and to share the beauty of a show with fellow club members and with the public.
Highlights of the day will include:
• Curated floral sculptures by top designers
• Hands-on demonstration of the use of microscopes to see tiny creatures that indicate the health of local streams.
